No. Free scan only previews the recoverable file tree. Recovery starts when you click Start recover after the scan — and only if you have enough tokens or Project Lifetime. If you are short, buy a pack first, then Start recover.

Often yes. GitHub-linked Vercel builds sometimes do not expose a recoverable source tree. In that case Free scan can import the linked GitHub repo into a Vercel preview deployment (production is not changed), then you Start recover as usual. Public repos work without GitHub login; for private repos paste a GitHub Personal Access Token (Contents: Read) in the optional GitHub PAT field on the Application page. You can also use a CLI-style deployment that includes source files, or make the repo public temporarily.

We do not store Vercel API tokens in our database. Tokens are sent to our servers only during scan and recovery requests to call the Vercel API. For convenience, the Recovery Console may save form fields in your browser's local storage — clear it anytime in browser settings.

No. All token purchases are final and non-refundable, including when recovery fails due to incorrect token scopes, deleted deployments, or Vercel API limitations.

No. Vercel Recovery is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Vercel Inc., GitHub Inc., or their subsidiaries.

Recovery requires an accessible deployment on Vercel. If files were purged under Vercel's retention policies or the deployment no longer exists, recovery may not be possible.
